Da war einmal ein kleiner Bub, so flint oder sechs Jahre alt mag er gewesen sein. Der ging oft mit seinem Vater spazieren. Es ware geschwindelt. wenn man sagen wolite, das habe der Bub immer gem gemacht. Manchmal war es schon recht lastig, wommitten aus dem schbnsten Spiel geholt zu werden. Sehr grog war er nicht, dieser Bahnhof. An einem Ende wurden seine Gleise von einer BrUcke uberspannt. Sie sah etwa so aus wie die auf dem Bild nebenan. Das wichtigste Baran war das durchbrochene Gelander, lurch das man prima auf die Gleise sehen konnte. Meistens dauerte es gar nicht lenge, bis ein Zug daherkam - voran die machtig stampfende Lokomotive. die gewaltige Wolken ausspie. Und wenn sie Bann unter der Brdurchfuhr, heinen Rauch und Dampf vein, so daB man keine drei Schritte weit sehen konnte. Und dieser Geruch nach Dampf, Waschkiiche, heiBem Ol, Rauch und Kohle - herrlich!
Immer blieben die beiden eine ganze Weile auf der BrUcke. Das heiBt, der Sohn war einfach nicht zu bewegen weiterzugehen. Selbst wenn in kurzer Folge zwei oder drei oder noch mehr age unter der Brdurchgefahren waren. hatte er noch nicht genug.
Das war namlich so: Der Bub hatte zu Hause eine Spielzeugeisenbahn. Keine toile Anlage. aber immerhin ein gropes Oval mit einem Ausweichgleis. Auf diesem Oval zog eine Lokomotive mit ihren Wdie Runden - und der Zug kam immer wieder.

Er war fest davon iiberzeugt, daB die groBen age wie der kleine Zug seiner Spielzeugeisenbahn eben um ein entsprechend gropes Oval dampften. Logisch, daB sie bald wieder unter der Brdurchkommen muBten! Und warum soilte man sich diesen nochmaligen GenuB entgehen lessen?
