This is the first in a series of four volumes which will cover small, non-steam locomotives. Generally, these will be ridged wheelbase, 2-4 axle, non-trucked locomotives used for construction, industrial and mining applications. These volumes are designed as an overview of many different builders, and as a vehicle to locate even more information. Each will include some scale drawings. It is hoped that enough information will be unearthed to allow more detailed books to be produced on a number of individual builders.
We have also included and up-dated our Plymouth and Brookville, much requested articles from out-of-print issues of Short & Narrow Rails.
