FOREWORD
IN COMPOSING THIS CATALOG we decided to depart from the practice of the past wherein our products were illustrated, but not described. The following pages are not only used to show the various equipment manufactured at our plant; but contain sufficient descriptive matter to enable the customer to intelligently select the article best suited to his needs.
IN ADDITION to the material illustrated and described we are prepared to manufacture trackwork of the all-rail type as included by individual designs, various railroad standards, intricate layouts, shaft bottoms or special construction. Our entire plant is devoted to the production of track material for any purpose.
USEFUL TRACK DATA has been included as part of this book. The most generally used tables, diagrams, etc., will be found conveniently located toward the rear. All figures and calculations are original, there- by preventing any errors due to copying from other sources.
WHEN ORDERING MATERIAL or requesting a quotation, customers can save time by giving complete information on the equipment desired and to enable those who are not entirely familiar with the subject to handle the matter easily, we have inserted several pages for this purpose. By referring to the details listed, it should not be a difficult matter to properly state what material is needed.
NOMENCLATURE of trackwork is often the cause of delays and errors, so, in order to offset these difficulties to some extent, illustrations and text will be found giving names as used by this firm to designate the various equipment.
THIS CATALOG IS DIVIDED into three sections, HEAVY rail work, LIGHT rail work and MISCELLANEOUS equipment. The heavy construction covers the needs of railroad work, electric roads, yard tracks, sidings, etc. The light material comprises trackwork for coal mines, metal mines, contractors, quarries and a general industrial line. Miscellaneous equipment covers accessories to regular material and appliances for special purposes.
IN DISTRIBUTING THIS CATALOG we wish to call attention to the following:
ALL GENUINE "CINCINNATI" TRACKWORK bears our registered trade mark in bright orange, as shown on the front cover and title page.
COAL MINE EQUIPMENT has been our specialty since the formation of this company in the year 1906. Our experience in this field covers a greater period than that of any other concern, regardless of the length of time of existence. Making trackwork, especially for the coal trade, was not seriously considered by others until the past few years.
OUR ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT is at your service. Plans, estimates, suggestions, etc., are cheerfully furnished and place you under no obligation whatever.
APPRECIATION is extended to all for the business placed with us in the past and we assure you that all future orders will receive the same prompt and careful attention as heretofore.
All pictures are of the actual item.  There may be reflection from the lights in some photos.   We try to take photos of any damage.    If this is a railroad item, this material is obsolete and no longer in use by the railroad.  Please email with questions. Publishers of Train Shed Cyclopedias and Stephans Railroad Directories. Large inventory of railroad books and magazines. Thank you for buying from us.
