Another in a series of books, the goal of which is to fill the void of concrete history of Minnesota's railroads, The Chicago and Northwestern in Minnesota is the story of the independent railroads that were formed into the Northwestern's Minnesota system. More than 250 pages and 275 photographs tell the story from the first shovel of dirt to the SD-60s of today's modern Northwestern system. The railroad wars, right-of-way fights, crack passenger trains and lowly branchline mixed trains are all part of this fascinating and never before recorded history.
