Our original C. N. E. Pictorial has been out of print for a number of years and we have been very gratified with the reception it has been accorded around the Nation. In fact, there were a number of interested folks who were quite disappointed because they missed out on the original publication and a number of letters were received urging us to reprint the book.
We have been fortunate in being able to locate some fine pictures of the passenger equipment and some other postcard views which are included in this second edition - scenes we did not have when the first was published. Consequently this issue is a bit larger that the original edition as it includes all of the material in the first issue, plus the additional material we have since located.
It is with a great deal of pleasure that we bring you our latest publication devoted to the many friends of the C. N. E. We hope you will enjoy all the photographs and post card scenes as well as the timetables.
A fine history of C. N. E. appeared in Railway & Locomotive Historical Society Bulletin No. 119, October, 1968.
We hope you will enjoy studying Employees Timetable No. 69, issued September 24, 1916, with its rules, schedules and general information. We have tried to lay out some of the photographic material according to the sub divisions as shown in this timetable so you would be able to locate the general areas where the scenes were taken in conjunction with the schedules in an effort to make this pictorial of more interest to you. Some items may be out of order, but in general we have tried to stick to this overall format.
Now, may you have many hours of pleasure and gratifying perusal of this book.
