About The Book
This second volume of a three set series on the Central New Railway, takes us through the actual years of the CNE from 1899 through 1927.
Several first hand accounts by two of its former employees are given plus other copies of correspondence relating to every day operations of this railroad, along with its history of course.
Freight operations are covered for the entire line which includes thru freights as well as the locals. Passenger and milk trains are also included along with the usual interruptions in service.
A complete roster of engines is also provided along with equipment rosters for several different eras.
We briefly follow the various lines after the complete takeover by the New Haven RR and their ultimate fate up to the present.
This volume starts the account of all the stations, industries, side tracks, etc. with the line between Danbury, Conn. and Campbell Hall, N.Y., excluding Hopewell Jct., which we covered in Volume I.
Copies of topo maps also cover all points of interest along with actual copies of track Configurations.
This Hard Cover book is 240 9" x 12" pages with approximately 800 illustrations of various sorts.
