Turn-of-the-century travelers rode Pennsy rails in the Pullman-built eonveyances shown above, gracefully striped and lettered in an era when carbuilding was a proud art,. End-bulkhead windows were a nicety soon abandoned in all-steel equipment. Pictured opposite are three vintage cars now in the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania at Strasburg. Outshopped in 1882, 1893 and 1895 respectively at Altoona, they were photographed there in 1939 after having been restored.
