ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Welcome to the fourth BNSF Annual, a pictorial review, produced by Four Ways West Publications, the second jointly produced in cooperation with Shasta Rail Group. With the diverse changes in this dynamic railroad, keeping up with said changes has been an almost full-time job (and one done with pleasure!). I am very pleased to note such a huge amount of slides, photographs and general information being contributed for this BNSF 1997 Motive Power Annual. Without the contributions from our readers, this project would not have been possible.
In this year's book, we are starting a Heritage Paint Scheme feature, beginning this year with the Santa Fe. Next year coverage of the widely diverse Burlington Northern will be featured. In addition, we have the usual fine coverage of the BNSF system courtesy of our hard working contributors. With BNSF changing their paint schemes and roster on an almost daily basis keeping up with the changes has made for a most interesting project. With all the changes, we have been kept rather busy pursuing photographs and roster data on an almost daily basis. As usual, Joe Shine has been a major help in the production of the Annual this year. Also deserving major credit is Shasta Rail Group member Adam Clegg, who's relentless pursuit of information and photographs has led to this fine publication's quality and content.
As usual, you are invited to contribute to the BNSF 1998 Motive Power Annual effort. Just send us your name and address and you will receive our "want list" flyer detailing the needs for the next Annual. Please remember, without your contributions the Annual can not have the quality and depth of coverage it now enjoys. Our address is Shasta Rail Group - BNSF 1998 Annual; P 0 Box 7261; Chico, CA 95927-7261. If you would like to talk with photo editor Adam Clegg, the phone number is (530) 892-9609.
All of us at Four Ways West Publications and Shasta Rail Group thank you for either contributing or purchasing this book. Your support is more than appreciated and we hope to see you with us again for next year's Annual. The people listed below have all contributed to the 1997 Annual - We Thank You, so much!
