The BNSF Railway revenue freight car fleet fields a wide variety of cars. First acquired were those from the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway and Burlington Northern Railroad upon the BNSF corporate merger in September 1995. Over twelve years since merging operations, the fleet profile has changed dramatically. It has done so by the railway acquiring an extensive fleet of new and different kinds of freight cars to meet the demands of increased traffic, replace worn-out 35-40 years old freight cars and retire others surplus to the needs of the company.
All pictures are of the actual item. There may be reflection from the lights in some photos. We try to take photos of any damage.
