As a lifelong Pennsylvania Railroad fan my interest in another railroad is a little strange. I became fascinated by the Pittsburgh & Susquehanna after reading the special instructions in a PRR Tyrone Division Employees Timetable forbidding PRR trains to pass under the bridges of the P&S while a train of that road was occupying any of those bridges. I thought at the time that this must be quite a railroad, and in the eight years I have spent gathering material for this book I must admit the P&S has not disappointed that initial reaction.
