This volume provides the model railroad hobbyist with scores of pictures and plans of railroad cars built and operated on American railroads over the last century. The plans are designed so that the model builder can construct his own authentic scale models from the full and complete information given. The book is lavishly illustrated with scores of photographs and the coverage of the subject ranges all the way from the early Davenport and Bridges Box Car to the most recent types. The contents of this volume are drawn from eight Car Builder's Cyclopedias, some of them now long out of print and extremely rare, as well as from "Railway Age" files and the author's collection of plans and photographs.
